Revanth Reddy to steer Telangana Congress

After a prolonged delay and deferment multiple times, the appointment of Anumula Revanth Reddy as the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) materialised with the Grand Old Party announcing new office-bearers for Telangana.

After a prolonged delay and deferment multiple times, the appointment of Anumula Revanth Reddy as the president of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) materialised with the Grand Old Party announcing new office-bearers for Telangana.

Revanth Reddy replaces N Uttam Kumar Reddy as the TPCC chief. Uttam Kumar Reddy has been at the helm of the party affairs in the State for the past six years.

Apart from appointing Malkajgiri MP Revanth Reddy as president, the Congress party also announced five working presidents, including former India cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin. The four other working presidents are J Geetha Reddy, Anjan Kumar Yadav, T Jaga Reddy and A Mahesh Kumar Goud.

Former Lok Sabha member Madhu Yashki Goud will be the chairman of the Campaign Committee. Former deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has been appointed as the chairman of the Election Management Committee, while A Maheshwar Reddy has been named as the head of the AICC Programme Implementation Committee.

Vem Narender Reddy, a close confidante of Revanth Reddy, has been appointed as senior vice president along with nine others. The other senior vice presidents are Chandrasekhar Sambani, Damodar Reddy, Ravi Mallu, Podem Veeraiah Suresh Shetakar, Ramesh Mudiraj, Gopishetty Niranjan, T Kumar Rao and Javed Ameer.
